game drives

to search
for the
elusive
leopard,
frequently
spotted
in Samburu.

the gerenuk
- nicknamed
the giraffe
gazelle.
The gerenuk
can stand
on its
hind legs
for long
periods
of time,
allowing
it to
reach
the succulent
leaves
at the
top of
tree branches.

Samburu-Masai
Mara (BLD)
Your light
aircraft
flight
takes
you to
Kenya’s
most famous
reserve,
the Masai
Mara.
After
lunch
and time
to settle
in, have
your cameras
and binoculars
ready
for an
afternoon
of superb
game viewing.
The plains
of the
Masai Mara are
frequently
dotted
with hundreds
of wildebeest,
zebra,
impala
and other
plains
game together with their assorted predators.

Masai

This is
big cat
country,
so your
chances
of seeing
several
of the
big cats
are very
good.
It’s
not uncommon
to drive
very close
to a pride
of lions
dozing
beneath
the shade
of a tree,
but you
might
have to
search
a bit
harder
for the
elusive
leopard
who prefers
snoozing
on higher
tree branches.
Among
the more
than 450
species
of birds
recorded
in the
Masai Mara,
at least
53 of
them are
raptors.
